Elissa Hamlat, PhD, MA
Adjunct Instructor
Psychiatry
Elissa June Hamlat's research focuses on the prevention and treatment of depression throughout the life span. Her work has documented the pubertal transition as a period of risk and the biological mechanisms by which early life adversity increases risk for accelerated development and aging. She is interested in how the intersection of gender and ethnicity may play a role in these relations. At UCSF, Dr. Hamlat is evaluating how digital tools may augment depression treatment and on increasing health equity for those underserved in mental health care services.
